A fully funded MS or PhD position is available with the Veterinary Education, Research, and Outreach Program (VERO; veroresearch.org) within the Texas A&M University School of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences. Potential projects include developing and applying molecular techniques to uncover the contribution of fungal communities to bovine liver abscess (LA) formation, linking species-level pathogen populations between LAs and the bovine gut, and investigating biomarkers (e.g., Mycoplasma:Moraxella ratio) as predictors of bovine respiratory disease (BRD). Projects will require the development/use of qPCR and amplicon sequencing (ITS and FrpoB-seq) assays.

The marine microbial genomics research center in SIGS of Tsinghua University was established in 2022, mainly focusing on: 1) in situ dynamics and functions of microorganisms in the deep ocean; and 2) evolution and ecology of microorganisms in the deep-sea environments. The research center seeks outstanding applicants for postdoctoral positions. While exceptional candidates in any area are welcome to apply, the primary focus for this search is in the areas of microbiology, genomics, bioinformatics, and evolutionary biology. Further information of the group leader can be found at https://www.sigs.tsinghua.edu.cn/wy1_en/main.htm. An outstanding start-up package (annual salary 41,000-45,000 euro) will be provided for the successful candidates. Applicants must have earned Ph.D. degree within 3 years, and demonstrated excellent qualifications in research and education. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the positions are filled.
All applicants should submit the following documents to li.yiqing@sz.tsinghua.edu.cn in PDF format: (1) a detailed resume, (2) up to three representative publications, and (3) the names and contact information of at least three references.
